The Ghost and Molly McGee
We were so excited to receive an exclusive invitation to a virtual screening party and Q&A with the actors from Disney Channel’s “The Ghost & Molly McGee.”
As a parent of 4 older children, I know how super popular this show is so when we received an invitation by Disney to check out the LIVE virtual screening of a never before seen 20-minute TV episode and Q&A with the stars of the hit show, I knew I had to ask Soleil to cover this event.
Soleil is an influencer, model, contributor, and all-around cutie. When we asked her to cover the event, mom, Delia, told us she could not wait! Soleil shared that “The Ghost & Molly McGee,” which premiered on October 1, 2021, and released on Disney+ on October 6, 2021, is a fun new series. We were happy to learn that the show is one the whole family can sit in on and enjoy together. It’s received so much attention and is so popular that a 2nd season has already been greenlit!
If you're one of the folks who has not checked out the show, here's some information about the show created and executive produced by Bill Motz and Bob Roth (“LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures”), along with executive producer Steve Loter (“Kim Possible”). The series follows 'tween optimist Molly, who lives to make the world a better place, and grumpy ghost Scratch, whose job is to spread misery.
Molly McGee is voiced by Ashly Burch and is a consummate optimist. She's a 'tween girl and is of mixed ancestry who mentions her Scottish and Thai roots. As someone of mixed ancestry, I love this as part of her story plus the fact that she tries to make the world a better place to be.
Next up is Scratch, which is voiced by Dana Snyder. Scratch is grumpy and as a cursed ghost, has to be alongside Molly.
Pete McGee is Molly’s father and is voiced by Jordan Klepper.
Sharon McGee is Molly's mother and is voiced by Sumalee Montano. Sidenote: Montano also voices Grandma Nin, Molly's Thai grandmother.
Darryl McGee is voiced by Michaela Dietz and is the playful and very mischievous younger brother.
You’ll recognize the famous voices of additional season one guest stars like Jenifer Lewis (ABC’s “black-ish”), Danny Trejo (“Machete”), Aparna Nancherla (“Corporate”), Pamela Adlon (“Better Things”), Patton Oswalt (“Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.”), D’Arcy Carden (“The Good Place”), Thomas Lennon (“Reno 911!”), Jessica Keenan Wynn (“Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”) and Sean Giambrone (ABC’s “The Goldbergs”).
Thanks Disney Channel for this yummy box of goodies we received that my whole family enjoyed! We loved it!
