Looking for Winter Break Fun: We've Got You Covered!
NEED ACTIVITIES FOR WINTER BREAK? WE GOT YA COVERED!
Nothing drives me more crazy than having a houseful of kids who complain they are bored during the winter break. I also tell them there's a room they can pick up or reading they can do and then I get the eyerolls.
So after all the cleaning is done we still have a couple of weeks off and I know it's important for children to get a break from all the work they do at school, the tutoring sessions, the lessons and the extracurricular sports they do. After a tiring routine, every kid needs some metal break which is bestowed in the form of Winter breaks.
They have a tough schedule throughout the year so Winter breaks are important to blow off steam and for us as a family to regroup and reconnect. Familytime is an important connection which will help them and help us create deeper bonds and memories.
BENEFITS OF DOING FAMILY ACTIVITIES:
Research shows us some healthful benefits of having family activities like creating family bonds and memories that will last a lifetime and boosts in their overall morale.
FUN ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS DURING WINTER BREAK:
In order to keep your children occupied and engaged during the winter holidays, we have fun activities:
- Dogs! A Science Tail In its final weeks at California Science Center, Dogs! A Science Tail is a hands-on science exhibition that highlights the dynamic nature of the bond between humans and dogs, and enables guests to experience the extraordinary way that dogs see, hear, and smell the world.
Guests will be able to explore the world from a dog’s perspective through a variety of hands-on exhibits.
Experiences will range from listening to hidden sounds that dogs can hear but humans can’t, excavating replicas of actual fossils to determine if they belong to wolves or dogs, walking a dog through an interactive neighborhood to understand how pets strengthen the community, or testing your pop-culture knowledge during a game of “Jeopawdy!” based on the show Jeopardy!
Tickets are on sale now for humans only. Pets are not permitted inside the Science Center*. Dogs! exhibition ticket prices range from $7.95 to $9.95. Discounted combo tickets for both the exhibition and IMAX movies are available. Additional discounts are available for California Science Center members, students, seniors and children. Groups of 15 or more may inquire about group discounts and reservations by calling (213) 744-2019. For tickets or further information, visit www.californiasciencecenter.org .

4. TRAVEL
Mammoth, Lake Tahoe or Big Bear are fun snow activities you can do as a family with your kids that are fun.
Kids can learn to ski or snowboard and watching them learn can be amusing. Roasting S'mores afterwards while listening to how their experience went is always a good time.
Gather up the whole family and explore your local neighborhood, ethnic enclaves in your city to learn about other cultures or travel afar to learn about others in the world.
Or stay home enjoy a staycation and a cup of cocoa. Cozy up to a good book and Disney+corner and keep it simple.
Everyone wins when you can spend quality time before the new school semester hits them again.
Whatever you choose during the winter break we hope you can build a connection with your family that will last forever.
